Today, Nutmeg’s Residency Program attracts trainees from a variety of training backgrounds. The trainees who study in Nutmeg’s two and four year Accredited Programs are looking for solid ballet fundamentals alongside the individualized, detailed technique and performance work that Nutmeg offers in its accelerated programs.

While it is always desirable to train a student in our 10 Year Dance Curriculum, and a minimum of four years is preferred, we have achieved outstanding results with students who have trained with us in the two and three year programs as well. Our artistic focus is on the student and on developing their natural talents; our students work on perfecting their technique while developing an understanding of the artistry required in the classical, neo-classical, and contemporary repertoire, including increasing turn out, building strength, and flexibility.

We typically have 3 to 8 graduates yearly, and we work with each student to prepare them for company auditions with resources like:

• A Training Assessment and Evaluation

• Reviewing Company and/or College Options
• Targeted Training Regime
• Student Showcase DVD
• Head and Dance Photo
• Letters of Recommendations
• Student Training and Performance Resume
